Favor is a social mobile application operated by Appisode One BV a limited liability legal entity based in the Netherlands. The Favor app is a social lifestyle gamification focused on fashion. Our goal is to inform our users on different fashion styles and inspire them with new styles and cool outfits. The Favor app serves all sorts of lifestyle dilemmas where users are able to vote on. The app immediately delivers the scores of the community after the vote. You are also able to become part of a lifestyle dilemma yourself by participating in a challenge with other members of the community. This way you will find more insights on your personal fashion style and the styles of other users. You can run a challenge with your friends or with random users on the app, the challenge will run for a certain amount of time. After the timeframe of a challenge has passed, the final outcome of the challenge will be visible for all four participants. On the other hand you are able to give your preference on the challenges in the Favor feed. After you have casted your vote you will see a preliminary score on how the community thinks of a particular challenge. Here you will be able to see how your preference compares to the vote of the community. If you double tap on a particular photo you will go to the user profile. From here out you’re able to send out social swap requests and share your social media channels with other Favor users. For simplicity all of these services and features we refer as (“Services”).

Before using our mobile application we kindly ask you to carefully read this Privacy Policy statement (“Privacy Policy”). Indeed, by using the Services you will share certain information about yourself with us, which may affect your privacy. This Privacy Policy will clearly inform you about which information we collect, how we use this information, whom we share it with, and the choices we give you to control, access, and update your information.

1. Information We Collect from you

When using the Services there are different types of information we collect from you.

A. Information you choose to provide Us

When using our Services, we collect the information that you choose to share with us. For example, our Services require you to register (meaning: create an account), and thus we need to collect a few important details about you. We might ask you indeed to provide us with a unique username, a password, an email address, and date of birth. To make it easier for others to find you, we may also ask you to provide us with some additional information that will be publicly visible on our Services, such as profile pictures, age or other useful identifying information.

Keep in mind that other Users can always save that content or copy it elsewhere. So, the same common sense that applies to the usage of Internet in general applies to the Services as well, so do not send share content that you wouldn’t want someone else to save or share. When you contact Favor Support or communicate with Us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you provide Us.

B. Information we collect when using our Services

When using the Services, we collect information about which of those Services you’ve used and how you’ve used them. We might know, for instance, the way you voted other users, the people you want to connect with and so on. Here is a more comprehensive explanation of the types of information we collect in case you use/when you use our Services :

I. Information we collect while you use our Services.

We collect information about your activity through our Services. For example, we may collect information about: how you interact with the Services, such as which people you like the most, the people you connect with, which social platforms you use to connect with others.

II. Content Information.

  We collect information about the content you provide, such as if the recipient has viewed the content, if another user wants to connect with you and the metadata that is provided with the content.

III. Device Information.

 We collect device-specific information, such as the hardware model, operating system version, advertising identifier, unique application identifiers, unique device identifiers, browser type, language, wireless network, and mobile network information.

IV. Camera and Photos.

 Many of our Services require us to collect images and other information from your device’s camera and photos. For example, you won’t be able to take a picture of yourself in order to challenge others or upload photos from your camera roll unless we can access your camera or photos.

V. Location Information.

 When you use our Services we may collect information about your location. With your consent, we may also collect information about your precise location using methods that include GPS, wireless networks, cell towers, Wi-Fi access points, and other sensors, such as gyroscopes, accelerometers, and compasses.

C. Facebook login and other information we get from third parties

We collect information when you visit or use third-party websites and apps that use our Services. This includes information about the websites and apps you visit, your use of our Services on those websites and apps, as well as information the developer or publisher of the app or website provides to you or us.

We allow you to sign up and log in using your Facebook account. If you sign up using Facebook, Facebook will ask your permission to share with Us certain information from your Facebook account. This includes your first name, last name, email address in order for us to verify your identity and gender, a link to your Facebook profile, your birthday, profile picture, and your list of friends.

If You choose to connect Your Favor account with another service provider such as Facebook and other social networks, we will receive and retain basic account registration data You provide to that service, such as name, email address, age, friends and user ID.

D. The Use of Cookies and Other Technologies.

Your Web browser offers so-called cookies which, if you allow their use, store small amounts of data on Your computer when you visit a website or use an application. Cookies do not contain any personal information about You and therefore cannot be used to identify You personally. Like most online Services and mobile applications, we may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage, and unique advertising identifiers, to collect information about your activity, browser, and device. We may also use these technologies to collect information when you interact with Services we offer through one of our partners, such as commerce features. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually remove or reject browser cookies through the settings on your browser or device. E. Information we collect through Our website. 

We also collect information when you use our website. That information includes, among other things:
  1. device information, such as your web browser type and language.
  2. access times.
  3. pages viewed.
  4. IP address.
  5. identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser.
  6. pages you visited before or after navigating to our website.

F. Information we get from third parties

We collect information when you visit or use third-party websites and apps that use our Services. This includes information about the websites and apps you visit, as well as information the developer or publisher of the app or website provides to you or us.

If you choose to connect your Favor account with another service provider such as Facebook and other social networks, or register your account using Facebook registration, We will receive and retain basic account registration data you provide to that service, such as name, email address, age, friends and user ID

2. How we use your information

We use the information that you provide to us to make our Services work and to deliver personalized content. For instance, as soon as you join a new Group, we personalize your Favor Group Challenges and we will use your Favor profile picture to automatically create up to 3 challenges on a daily basis for each Group you joined.

We might also use the information we have to improve our advertising and measurement systems so we can show you relevant ads on and off our Services and measure the effectiveness and reach of ads and services. We also use the information we have to help verify accounts and activity, and to promote safety and security on our Services, such as by investigating suspicious activity or violations of our Terms.

3. How we share information

We may share your information in different ways.

We may share information with other Users such as your username, name, profile picture or other pictures you upload, and your age.

We may also share information such as your name, username, and profile pictures with all Users and general public.

We may share information about you with service providers who perform services on our behalf, sellers that provide goods through our services, and business partners that provide services and functionality.

We may share information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to comply with any valid legal process, governmental request, or applicable law, rule, or regulation, investigate, remedy, or enforce potential Terms of Service violations, protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or others, detect and resolve any fraud or security concerns.

Finally we may share with third parties such as advertisers or publishers aggregated, non-personally identifiable, or de-identified information.

4. How do you manage information you shared

We want you to be free to change your information whenever you desire to do so. You can change your profile picture, social network media channels, age whenever you want from your Settings.
Once you choose a username it is not possible to change it.

5. Third Parties’ Content and Integration

The Services may also contain third-party links and search results, include third-party integrations. Through these links, third-party integrations, you may be providing information (including personal information) directly to the third party, us, or both. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for how those third parties collect or use your information. As always, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of every third-party website or Service that you visit or use, including those third parties you interact with through our Services.

6. Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others

We may let other companies use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies on our Services. These companies may collect information about how you use our Services and other websites and online Services over time and across different Services. This information may be used to, among other things, analyse and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand your online activity.

Additionally, some companies may use information collected on our Services to deliver targeted advertisements on behalf of us or other companies, including on third-party websites and apps.

7. How long we store your content

Favor gives you the opportunity to either upload a photo from your local phone library or take a photo directly. When you participate in a challenge the timeframe is set on a minimum of 2 hours and maximum 48 hours. Within this timeframe your photo will appear in the public Favor feed and the community have to opportunity to cast their votes on the challenge. After the timeframe has ended, all four participants can check the final result. The result of the challenge will remain in your ‘completed challenges’ for 14 days. After 14 days the challenge will be deleted from our servers.

For the rest of our Services we may use content for longer periods of time, which means those services may follow different deletion protocols. If you submit content that is inherently public such as your username and age, we may retain the content as long as necessary to offer and improve the Services.

However be aware that there are several ways Users can save your content and also upload it again on Favor such as by taking a screenshot of the Challenge and profile or through other image-capturing technologies.

Keep in mind that, while our systems are designed to carry out our deletion practices automatically, we cannot guarantee that deletion will occur within a specific timeframe. Moreover in case of we might need to keep certain information if a valid legal proceeding is asking us to preserve relevant content or if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms violations. Finally, we may also retain certain information in backup for a limited period of time or as required by law.

8. Age restriction

Our Services are not intended for—and we don’t direct them to—anyone under 13. And that’s why we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

9. Revision of Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll let you know. Sometimes, we’ll let you know by revising the date at the top of the Privacy Policy that’s available on our website and mobile application. Other times, we may provide you with additional notice such as adding a statement to our websites’ homepages or providing you with a notification on your Favor mobile application.
